Lost Balloons "S/T" LP
Lost Balloons is the project of Jeff Burke (Marked Men, Radioactivity, Potential Johns) and Yusuke Okada (Suspicious Beasts, Blotto). To simplify things i always just said it's like Radioactivity with keyboards, but there really is a lot of the sound Yusuke brought from Suspicious Beasts mixed in also. A twang similar to the Replacements when they bring in their parts with a little country vibe. I feel like this debut LP flew under the radar (personally i thought the 2nd one did too), i never understood why it wasn't more of a punk household name like Marked Men and Radioactivity. I think it's probably that it wasn't as straight forward and had a little more going on with other instrumentation and borders "the indie zone". I don't know, if you like any of those bands and don't enjoy this there's an old saying I'm fond of... "you cant fix stupid".
